The title became extinct on the death of the second Baronet in 1971. Edward Hornby, brother of the first Baronet, was also Member of Parliament for Blackburn. Another brother, A. N. Hornby, was Captain of the England Cricket Team. ==Hornby baronets, of Brookhouse (1899)==
